 | CCI: Core Curriculum I Series with Mindy Harrell CCI: Core Curriculum One Series
Faux Foundations: This is a "core curriculum" based class designed for the beginner or painters apprentice. This is now a three day low enrollment or pre-arranged private class. Mindy will provide you with 15 amazing "ready to go" samples! All are unique, yet simple and best of all, Mindy's top sellers! Finishes created in this class were designed to "see a return on your investment immediately." You will leave with a comprehensive technical binder detailing the finishes taught for your easy reference. No prerequisite necessary. Lunch is provided for this class.

 | "Modern World Finishes" by Mindy Harrell Advanced Level Training, 3 days
"Modern World Finishes" by Mindy Harrell
This is a 3 day class designed to build upon your existing skills and expand your knowledge of product usage, design concepts, and "art inspired" techniques. You will learn how to embellish your work and use multi-medium mixing to maximize the creative process. More artistic freedom is encouraged in this class to give your portfolio customization and assist in promoting your "inner Andy Warhol." Mindy will show you what it takes to create modern day representations in a way that it becomes a piece of "artwork" in itself! Mindy is well known for pulling many "tricks" out of her creative bag and she will share these tips so that you too can make money with your finishes. An added bonus to this class is leaving with a custom piece of art work created by... YOU!
On top of it all, you will leave with a comprehensive technical binder detailing the finishes taught for your reference. You will leave with 15+ samples utilizing the favorites from the silver and gold label line by Faux Effects International!
Pre-requisite: CCI series or comparable training at another studio. A continental breakfast will be served each morning and a catered lunch.

 | Heirloom Cabinetry Learn the Art of Creating Heirloom Quality Furniture! Learning how to create "Heirloom Quality Finishes" is a class you do not want to miss! Custom cabinetry work is a skill in high demand! From designers, clients and even cabinet makers-people are discovering the value in making over their old and out dated cabinets. This is a lucrative field and could easily be a separate business all on it's own. You will learn how to operate an HVLP sprayer, proper prep, application techniques, and the various final coatings. Not to mention designs that are guaranteed to sell! This is structured as a two day or complete four day class allowing for schedule flexibility. Creating hand painted, distressed, chipped, and mulit-layered finishes is a skill surely to add thousands of dollars to your revenue! Real door samples and moldings are provided for you to take home. Light breakfast and lunch provided daily. Choose from a two day or the complete four day class.
Investment: Heirloom I, Two days- $895 Basic application finishes to more comlex finishes embellished with crackles, venetian plaster, stone, modellos and more!
Heirloom II, Two days- $895 In this unique, one of a kind class you will learn how to create your own molds, cast your own resins and attach your custom creations to the furniture prior to the final finishing process. In this fresh approach to furniture finishing, Mindy will teach you all aspects of the design process giving you thousands of ideas to create that truly unique, heirloom quality piece of art on furniture.

 | The Kitchen Make-over! Samples are on the way! So Keep checking back! Mindy is excited about a new concept class focusing on "The Kitchen" (Thanks to Kathy Boyd for getting me excited about this class; it was her idea!)
Basically, the big push right now is in Renovation!! This class will focus on what consumers look for when it comes to gaining the most value from their dollars!
We will work on samples for:
Counter tops (RsCrete and Rock-kote) Three samples
Cabinets Three samples
Walls Three samples
Tiles (Rock-Kote) Tile resurfacing Three samples
This will be a three day class that is all about the kitchen!

You will learn how to prepare "mini-mock" ceiling replicas as well as work on an actual modello finish on a "real ceiling." Want to learn the secret to a fabulous money making cloud ceiling?  | "Taking the Guesswork out of Pricing "The Client Workbook" - Taking the Guesswork Out of Pricing
With an education in Finance and Economics as well as Fine Arts, it was only natural for Bickford to first look to an efficient job costing and record keeping system when she started her finishing business. She took her background in finance and experience in developing automated spreadsheets and databases and developed an automated estimating system that would make pricing easier and more efficient for her. Through the years, she has refined her estimating techniques to a fine art and along the way grown her estimator from a simple spreadsheet to the automated "Client Workbook" that it is today.
Laptops with Microsoft Excel are required for this class. The template works on both PC and Mac.

- How do I price a faux finish I've never done before?
- Will doing proposals ever get easier and faster?
